Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) to join our client healthcare team in Bathgate. As an RGN, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a variety of healthcare settings. Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Care:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health and care needs, including physical, emotional, and psychological aspects.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, administering medications, treatments, and interventions as required.
Clinical Procedures:
- Perform a range of clinical procedures such as wound care, injections, and catheterization, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatments, reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team.
Medication Management:
- Administer medications accurately and safely, following prescribed dosage and timing.
- Maintain meticulous medication records and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
Patient Education:
- Educate patients and their families on managing their health conditions, medications, and post-discharge care.
- Provide guidance on healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention.
Collaborative Care:
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to the development of holistic care plans.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic health records (EHR).
- Prepare reports and documentation in accordance with healthcare policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
- Previous experience as an RGN, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and their families.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care and adhering to ethical and professional standards.
