McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a fast growing Top15 Accounting Firm who are looking to recruit an Accounts Junior/Outsourcing Junior to join their growing Business Services team near High Wycombe.  Assisting with managing small and medium-sized client businesses, this is a fantastic opportunity to use your Management Accounts experience towards achieving promotion in the future, and key duties include:

• Providing accounting services to clients accurately and to budget and time deadlines
• Undertaking efficient and accurate bookkeeping in respect of client accounting records.
• Preparing client VAT returns with a high level of technical understanding and ensure deadlines are met.
• Responding to ad-hoc client requests in respect of their financial affairs in a timely manner.
• Building solid and trusting relationships with clients and staff.
• Collating client accounting records, ensuring the internal systems are all up to date.
• Posting client accounting transactions into the accounting software and checking for accuracy.
• Reviewing transactions to confirm their VAT treatment.
• Preparing VAT returns and related workings prior to HMRC submission.
• Providing accounting technical support to clients when required.

To be considered for the Accounts Junior role you should be seeking a firm where wider responsibilities, personal ownership and a broader client base will be made available to you, and knowledge of computerised accounting packages such as Xero and Sage would be a distinct advantage.  With experience in client management, book-keeping and management accounting duties, you should be able to meet both client and HMRC deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment and work with a close-knit team.  You should ideally be a Part-Qualified AAT or ACCA Accountant, and looking to carry on with your studies.
