Engineering Manager / Land Surveying Manager - Tier 1 - Major Highways Project - Gloucestershire
Overall, Purpose of The Role:
To manage and co-ordinate the survey requirements of the project, including site control, survey equipment, calibration records, setting out, surveying, liaising with the design team, distribution of design model, overall responsibility for dimensional accuracy across the project.
To implement all of the company's policies including those for SHEA and risk management. To promote the groups values towards its customers to meet or exceed their expectations and fulfil the vision of becoming the most highly respected company in the industry.
The successful candidate will come from a strong civil engineering and major projects background with the ability to move between multiple disciplines, including but not limited to Earthworks, Highways, drainage, site clearance, structures.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
- Management of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality SHEQ) matters for areas of direct responsibility. * Support the Project Manager's role and that of the site team.
- Co-ordinate and collate As-built surveys.
- Support the engineering team to ensure accuracy of information.
- Assist with the weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
- Liaising and managing third parties in maintaining site control.
- Managing third party topographical surveys, survey requests and distribution of information.
- Overall responsibility for survey equipment and calibration.
- Provide assistance to the Scheme Lead on constructability issues during the planning phase of the project and manage the resource allocation for early construction activities that may take place during this phase.
- Liaise with other members of the Scheme Team responsible for the delivery of the project on time and on budget.
- Implementation and maintaining of safe systems of work in accordance with the company- Major Projects SHEA Policy and procedures.
- Ensure that adequate monitoring and supervision arrangements are maintained and clearly defined areas of responsibility for contractors are established and implemented.
- Approval of safe systems of work.
Work to and understand the requirements of the scheme Health & Safety Plan.
- Work to and understand the requirements of the scheme Environmental Management plan
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to implementing the Quality Management System and attainment of the company/sector/site targets.
- Assist the Construction Manager in ensuring the effective and efficient site management of the project quality objectives. Promote continuous improvement and share good practice at project level and within the business Diversity, inclusion and wellbeing.
