Job description
The successful candidate will likely have the following repsonsiobilities:
- Manage the month end close process; posting journals and providing analysis on a timely basis to stakeholders, ensuring they fully understand the variances and drivers impacting the month end actuals.
- Production of rolling monthly forecasts, annual Budgets, and long-term contract forecasting. These must be created with full collaboration of finance and non-finance stakeholders. Ensure that non finance stakeholders fully understand the components of their forecasts.
- Work with non-finance managers to improve their understanding and fluency in Finance. Ensuring that they can be held accountable for their forecast and can present finances in a competent manner.
- Responsible for ensuring that contract amounts are billed accurately, in full and on time to ensure efficient cash collection.
- Ensure appropriate accounting standards are applied including IFRS 15
- Provide financial support and partnering to the business in respect of contract change proposals including providing review and challenge to associated project business cases
- Prepare and present data and information on cost and contract performance, with suggestions and initiatives on how to improve performance to increase revenue, profitability and cashflow.
- Be responsible for the operation of best practice financial control and governance to ensure that costs recognised are allowable, attributable and reasonable within a regulated reporting environment.
- Support the business with delivery of change programmes required to achieve contractual commitments including changes to cost collection methodologies and time recording activities
- Support finance department initiatives to improve consistency and efficiency of financial reporting including use of new tools and ways of working
