Job description
What you will do in your working day
The Apprentice will be trained and become responsible for a number of engineering tasks, including but not limited to:
- Creating engineering plans, specifications, and other technical design information
- Develop a working knowledge of AutoCAD and other engineering software
- Assisting Engineers with the preparation of civil engineering designs
- Develop an understanding of the relevant engineering advice provided to our clients
- Develop skills on the job to increase knowledge base as part of a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD)
- Attending Site visits and inspections
The training you will be getting
- The Civil Engineering Apprentice will gain a formal qualification in Civil Engineering following a programme of part time study (one day a week) towards a BEng qualification, provided by local colleges and universities (location and qualification dependant on entry qualifications)
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will hold a formal qualification and membership of the appropriate professional body (Institution of Civil Engineers) at either Eng Tech or IEng level. Alongside further development, the candidate could progressed to Chartered Engineer (CEng)
