Job description

Were looking for a budding IT support technician to join our Helpdesk team in Huddersfield on an apprenticeship programme. You will already have a strong proven interest in all things computer related such as a hobby in coding or working with computers.
The role involves speaking with customers over the phone so you must be confident on the phone and with communication in general.

You will handle 1st line queries for Windows 10 and 11 desktops Windows and Linux servers. One day a week you will be participating in an apprenticeship study scheme to enhance your skills relevant to this position.

Responsibilities

• Taking support desk phone calls
• Supporting Windows 10 and 11 desktops
• Basic Linux server support
• Working from a ticketing system and accurately logging all work
• Correctly prioritising your ticket flow and escalating where necessary
• Some coding in bash batch and maybe python
• Maintaining a good customer relationship for all support queries

Essential

• Clear communication skills
• Ability to solve problems and work independently
• Basic grasp of the Linux command line
• Excellent knowledge of Windows Desktop
• Be able to take direction and follow procedures.
• Highlymotivated can show initiative and results.

• Good organisational skills
• Minimum 8 GCSEs grade 5 or above
