Job description
Senior Accounting Technician (Hybrid) needed in Solihull, £15.70 – £18.06phPAYE – Reference: 413657
£15.70 – £18.06 dependent on experience
1 day per week in the office
Produce a range of accurate and timely work in line with required deadlines.
Deliver services to customers/clients/users, liaising with others internally and externally to promote good working relationships that enable efficient service delivery.
Investigate, analyse, and interpret information (using financial systems, such as Oracle and/or other financially related systems).
Reconcile and analyse financial data and quality check information to various sources.
Handle, process and maintain manual and computerised information, (i.e. journal entries to GL, staffing data and child specific data) with care, accuracy, confidentiality and security.
Comply with Financial Regulations and other relevant legislation.
Develop a sound working knowledge of Oracle Financials and General Ledger coding structure.
Contribute to ensuring the financial system is correct and up to date.
Contribute to the setting of budgets, the monitoring of spend against budget, financial year-end processes, and the preparation of grant returns.
Provide support and guidance on procedures/processes/systems to a range of audiences.
Prepare and maintain Excel spread sheets using formulae.
Problem solving involving some investigation.
Respond to correspondence.
Take of notes / minutes and actions.
Manage own time effectively.
Deliver the tasks agreed annually in your performance development review.
Take responsibility for your personal development and regular performance reviews with support and guidance from your line manager, including ensuring own technical knowledge and mandatory training is up to date.
Prepare accurate, concise, and timely information to service/budget managers and their representatives.
Provide financial advice and support to budget managers and their representatives.
Provide support for the annual budget setting process.
Provide support for financial year end processes to deliver tangible outcomes.
Utilise technical and analytical skills to interpret data.
Interpret relevant financial regulations and legislation.
Prepare grant claims and ensure grant conditions are met.
Prepare and maintain Excel workbooks using complex formulae and functions.
Exercise some advisory, guiding, negotiating, and persuasive skills.
Identify and help to implement positive changes to existing processes.
Supervision where appropriate – advising, instructing, and checking the work of others and providing feedback; Manage relationships with other staff, customers and partner organisations to enable the delivery of the service.
Any other appropriate duties as and when required.
This is a Full time role on a temporary contract basis.
