Intensive Needs Night Worker – Housing Provider in Supported Living – Lincolnshire – Excellent Pay Rate

The Company:
A responsible and progressive housing provider, aiming to provide social justice and support to vulnerable groups of people across the UK; ex-offenders, homeless, young people, people with mental health difficulties and those struggling with substance misuse. They are a well-established organisation with a positive market reputation and over 20 years of experience in supported living.
The Opportunities:
- Intensive Needs Night Worker will be working full-time; 36 hours per week, typically between Monday and Friday however there may be flexibility on this.
- Competitive pay rates; Housing Support Workers are paid £17.61 (Umbrella), per hour. You will also be paid £0.45 per mile for travel between services.
- Contract length will be 6-months before prospective extension and/or permanence.
- You will be based across multiple projects across Lincolnshire.
The Role:
- To provide night time support to young people, aged 16 – 21 who have intensive and complex support needs
- To work in a enthusiastic and inspiring manner with young people, in their living environment, in order to empower them to engage in a good night time routine
- There may also be a requirement to work on own in the community and/ or service setting/ at other hub locations within Lincolnshire
The Responsibilities:
- To be the first point of contact at night for each young person within a positive and empowering service, delivering direct support within their home environment.
- To implement safety plans relating to the young person as and when required
- To ensure robust recording of activities within the property and the behaviour of young people.
- To contribute to meeting the overall SMART action plans of the Young Person Witness adhoc challenging behaviour displayed by the young people in the home and respond to this professionally, calmly in a solution focused way using verbal de escalation techniques and, where necessary, safely removing yourself from any situation that could pose a risk to your personal safety.
- Supporting and encouraging the young person to be a ‘good neighbour’ by promptly addressing any noise, visitor, ASB issues inline with company visitor policy and, where necessary, liaising with local policing and ASB teams.
- Where necessary you will be expected to respond to any complaints in relation to the property in a co operative and professional manner, and in all instances report to your line manager.
- .Support the young person to access any emergency health care overnight
- To ensure that all accommodation is safe by completing cleaning duties.
- Ensuring that all young people are aware of and are adhering to company visitor policy, and take action when this is breached.
- To report as necessary any serious incidents including taking action when young people are missing from placement to include contacting children services and police
- To be aware of and apply personal safety procedures at all times
When required work from other hub locations within Lincolnshire as required
Required Skills:
- Support Worker’s Must be someone with a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Experience in supporting clients / service-users’ with complex needs is essential.
- Proactive and able to use their own initiative to manage a caseload.
- Previous experience or knowledge of social/supported housing processes is essential.
- Appropriate understanding and passion for relevant social and cultural issues.
Desirable Skills:
- Relevant training to housing or health and social care.
- Over 3 years’ experience within a relevant position i.e. Housing Support Worker.
- Understanding of relevant legal framework and experience with homeless and young people through community work or social work.
