Duration: 3-month ongoing

Working Pattern: Full time

Working Arrangement: Remote working

Hourly Rate: £55 per hour Umbrella

Senior Planning Lawyer – South East – £55 umbrella per hour – Remote Working

Venn Group’s legal team are working with a  reputable Local Authority in their search for a Senior Planning Lawyer to join their team on a 3 month locum basis.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced Solicitor/ CILEX Lawyer/Barrister with a proven track record of successfully managing Planning legal matters within Local Government.

Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

-Post qualification legal practice experience in the field of planning, including Court and Inquiry procedures

-Experience of advising at committees and member briefings on all aspects of planning law & procedures

-A track record of providing legal advice and support to senior leaders and key decision-makers at the highest levels in the subject area of planning law and practice

-Desirable to have experience and knowledge of the law in one of the following areas- Contracts/Commissioning, Property/Regeneration, Contentious, Corporate Governance.

Skills and Knowledge:

-Must be a qualified solicitor or barrister or legal executive with a current practising certificate

-Knowledge and understanding of the political nature of local government and democratic process

-Resilient and committed, remaining composed under pressure
