Job Role Summary:
You will join our UK-based group Finance Team within an award-winning tour operator delivering year-round activity holidays.
You will facilitate the planning, reporting and support of the summer & winter programmes for Neilson, emphasising profitability, budgeting, analysis, and delivery of key financial performance metrics.
Part-qualified accountants will have study support for their course, including payment towards the accreditation, days off for study and help with course materials.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- A key contributor in both the summer & winter programme reporting cycles, including planning, budgeting, reporting and end-of-season analysis
- Detailed profitability analysis providing insightful information to the programme management teams and the wider business
- Preparation of key financial forecasts
- Business partnering for overseas subsidiaries and branches, providing support, guidance and analysis for management to help drive performance and assist with budget, forecasts and budget books.
- Maintenance of the business forecasting model
- Production of rolling forecasts
- Support with month-end process
- Cashflow forecasting and variance analysis

Technical Skills & Knowledge
Essential
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel
- Solid understanding of accounting principles such as double-entry book-keeping
- Experience in Budgeting, Forecast & Performance appraisal
- A challenging mindset with the ability to continuously seek improvement
Desirable
Experience & Track Record:
Essential
- Management accounting, financial analysis or budgeting experience with a minimum of 2 years experience.
Desirable
- Experience working in a group accounting function
- Experience working with overseas subsidiaries
- Experience in travel and/or tour operations
- Experience in dealing with multi-currencies
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- At least two years experience in a similar finance role
Desirable
- Studying towards AAT, ACCA, CIMA or QBE
Specific Tasks
- Business partnering with other departments.
- Assist with the preparation of detailed budgets against which performance will be monitored
- Monitoring of risks and opportunities
- Assist with detailed re-forecasting of seasonal performance
- Ad-hoc analysis to enable understanding of performance variances or flash probability data
- End-of-season analysis providing useful insight into the programmes
- Produce business cases to assist with business decisions
- Support with month-end processes, e.g. fixed asset register, B/S reconciliation, etc
- Any ADHOC finance duties as required to support the team
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by consolidating and ensuring all information is loaded correctly into SAP / SAGE x3
- Maintenance of budgeting models and ongoing rolling forecast
