Salary: £22,119.53 Full time, pro rata for Part time - £17,695.624, plus payment for sleep-in shifts
Based in: Brierfield, Lancashire

Full driving licence is essential.

Imagine now needs Specialist Support Workers who will provide support to individuals with a variety of different needs and conditions. This may include learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, complex behaviour, mental health conditions, acquired brain injuries, physical disabilities, neurological impairments, psychiatric and clinical needs. The role of support worker includes an expectation to support individuals with all their daily living requirements including support with personal care. Job Description:
Our main aim is:
To provide a young man with person centred support so he is able to feel connected to his community, feel safe in a homely environment and receive the care and support he need’s in all aspects of his life whilst promoting independence.
The young man lives in his own bungalow with a staff team 24 hours a day including weekends and sleep in duties. He has a diagnosis of severe learning disabilities, some health needs, Autism and can present with behaviours which challenge. The young man has a lot of energy and requires a balance of sensory stimulation. He has access to his own mobility car so a driver is essential. He likes a bit of rough and tumble and is playful with staff supporting him, Cycling, trampolining, going on walks. Within his home the young man likes to watch you tube and TV and enjoys some time on his own.
At times the young man does require additional support when he becomes anxious and support with personal care is needed.
The young man appreciates male or female staff who are calm, friendly, playful , confident in difficult situations and to lone work for periods of time, committed to him and are able to maintain boundaries to make him feel safe.
Our support staff work with people to enhance their skills within the home environment by supporting with cooking, daily living tasks, budgeting and financial support, personal care, accessing education and healthcare.
Experience is preferred due to the complex needs of the person, however full training will be provided which is a combination of face to face, online and shadowing an existing staff member. We will support you to complete Care Certificate and also provide opportunities to gain qualifications In Health and Social Care.
