Job description
Your new company
Your new firm of Chartered Accountants is a small but highly-reputable, independent firm. With 7 Partners and approximately 20 staff the firm has an enviable client base made up of large owner-managed business, partnerships, sole traders and high net worth individuals. As "go-to" specialists, the business offers the opportunity to be involved in complex compliance and advisory work, inclusive of transaction work. Whilst it is a Partner-lead service, all members of staff have client contact irrespective of level. They also have a proven track record of facilitating professional development and progression; one of the Partners having started at the firm as a Trainee. If you wish to work in an intimate and relaxed setting where you can get involved in high-quality work, this could be the firm for you. In addition to this, with the options to start any time between 8am and 10am and compress your hours to allow for a 4pm finish on Friday, you can also experience a great work-life balance.
Your new role
Joining the firm as a Tax Senior or Assistant Manager, you will manage a mixed tax portfolio and report into multiple Partners to ensure you gain a varied workload to develop your skills set. You will ensure the necessary compliance work is completed efficiently and to a high standard, whilst assisting Managers and Partners on tax planning and advisory work. For example, this may pertain to mergers and acquisitions, business structures, succession planning, reliefs and incentives, residency issues, HMRC investigations, and inheritance planning.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a proven track record in delivering compliance services to both private and corporate clients, and demonstrate excellent communication and organisation. You will have assisted the provision of tax advice or exhibit the potential to do so. Ideally you will be ATT, CTA, CA or ACA qualified, however, this is not essential.
What you'll get in return
Working for a small yet reputable specialist firm of like-minded individuals, you will experience a friendly atmosphere whilst gaining exposure to a diverse number of complex tax issues had by both corporate and personal clients. You will receive a competitive salary in the region of £30,000 to £40,000 depending on level and experience, and flexible working arrangements. You will have 5 weeks annual leave in addition to statutory holiday in addition to pension and other flexible benefits.
