Job Description
Key responsibilities of the successful Head of Finance Operations:
General - Contributing to the success the Charity, through active membership of the senior management team, and supportive management of finance and operations staff.
- Providing business-partnering support to senior colleagues, maintaining strong working relationships and an excellent understanding of the business.
Finance
- Effective financial planning and analysis to support ongoing strategic and business development.
- Coordinate, and provide reporting and analysis for, the Finance Subcommittee of the Board.
- Oversight of the annual financial audit, Trustees Annual Report, Charity Commission / Companies House reporting, VAT returns and taxation.
- Delivery of budgets, forecasts, statutory accounts, cash flow reporting, and project / contract related financial reporting.
- Ensure ongoing compliance and sustainability by maintaining effective finance controls and policies, and proactive income risk processes.
- Oversight of accounting functions including management reporting, accounts payable / receivable, asset management, and payroll (currently outsourced).
Operations - Oversee strategic risk management and quality for health & safety, facilities, and information governance matters,assuring compliance with legislation and codes of practice, ensuring the maintenance of effective controls and policies.
- Line-manage the designated ISO Quality Manager to oversee and develop the quality assurance framework anditernal audit.
- Ensure that effective IT, technology, and systems support
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head of Finance Operations should have:
- A professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
- Proven experience in a senior finance role within the Not For Profit sector.
- Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record in managing teams.
- Strong strategic planning and business development skills.
- Experience in bidding and funding.

- Applicants seeking part-time hours would be considered, on the basis that additional capacity would be sourced within the team to compensate
