If this sounds like you, Labcorp is looking for a Study Director to join our Aquatic Ecotoxicology and Biodegradation (AEB) department in Shardlow, Derbyshire .

The Senior Director is responsible for the management of studies to ensure that all work is conducted in accordance with the Study Plan, SOPs and appropriate regulatory standards and guidelines.
Will liaise with Study Sponsors, undertake experimental work associated with Terrestrial Ecotoxicology studies and provide scientific advice to Sponsors and colleagues. Provide line management to a small team within the Terrestrial Ecotoxicology team.
As a Study Director your main responsibilities will be:
Provide study direction during the conduct of client-sponsored studies or research projects/programs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements
Responsible for the overall design, scientific and technical conduct of studies, including interpretation, analysis, documentation and reporting of results
Initiate and maintain continuous client communication throughout the development and conduct of studies and to liaise with Laboratory/Support area Managers to ensure Client timelines are adhered to
The job role will include the direction of non-standard study types and an increased volume of work
In addition to Study workload, the individual has further departmental responsibilities; these may include external scientific profiles, client specific relationships, and the management of novel assay types or technical science improvement initiatives
Oversee the management of the Research Apiary, including, but not limited to, beekeeping, equipment maintenance and staff training
Manage the performance and training of direct reports, including annual appraisals and objective setting

Education:
Educated to Masters/PhD level or equivalent in a related field
Experience:
Experienced in the role of a Study Director - Terrestrial Ecotoxicology
Good knowledge of GLP and associated regulations
Highly skilled in conducting research, data interpretation and writing reports
Record of accomplishment of managing regulated studies under GLP regulations on species such as beetles, bees, worms, springtails or similar
Specific knowledge of bee husbandry and apiary management would desirable
Supervisory experience of a small team
Effective oral and written communication skills along with great organizational skills
