Partner Relations and Events Officer

(Scotland)

£28,211 per annum (pro rata for part time hours)

Full Time 37.5 hours per week – happy to talk flexible working

Base: Sustrans office in Edinburgh or Glasgow with the flexibility to work from home, or home-based within reasonable travelling distance from Edinburgh or Glasgow.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans Places for Everyone Team where you will play a pivotal role in showcasing exemplary projects aimed at making walking, wheeling and cycling easier and more accessible for all through various channels such as events, workshops and webinars. 

As the Partner Relations and Events Officer, your primary focus will be development and delivery of training events for Sustrans Partners, elected members and other stakeholders. You'll be tasked with identifying and implementing opportunities for their professional growth while spotlighting the achievements of The Places for Everyone Team through knowledge sharing activities such as , seminars, networking opportunities and walking tours. You will also contribute to the production of our monthly newsletter and event promotion.

Responsibilities encompass all aspects of event planning and execution. This includes identifying potential speakers, leading workshops and coordinating various activities. You'll be the point of contact for speakers, trainers, and attendees, ensuring seamless coordination of attendance and arranging necessary travel and accommodation. This role will require some travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. 

About you

You should have experience in planning and organising events in person and online, and strong verbal and communication skills, along with good interpersonal and networking skills. We also ask that you have excellent administrative and organisational skills, a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and proactively with limited supervision. Proficiency in IT, particularly in Microsoft Office applications, is also required for this role.
