P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our client, who is currently seeking a Programme Manager to join their team based in Norwich on a full-time permanent basis.
Role Summary:
- Implementation of supply chain strategies to allow best practice tendering and mitigation of supply chain risk to business and customers.
- Implementation of logistic strategies, tracking goods from the origination point to destination.
- Leading and reacting to changes in demand discovered at weekly meetings with global hub sites.
- Analysing supply chain & business system data, resolving discovered issues where possible and presenting innovative solutions for consideration were not.
- Identifying and minimising risk by forecasting the demand for products and implementing supply chain strategies to manage them.
- Managing inventory, packing, and distributing globally.
- Provide leadership & guidance to the supply chain team.
- Increase value within the supply chain through actively decreasing waste and improving process.
- Manage the performance of suppliers through quarterly business reviews, day to day communications and/or audit as required, ensuring both compliance and service levels.
- Apply and enforce the company Defective Material / improvement system.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work with the Delivery Project team on new projects to ensure supply chain and logistics solutions are in place for end-to-end delivery.
- In collaboration with the supply chain manager ensure new suppliers are audited for both quality and financial risk prior to assigning contracts and orders.
- Tender and manage logistics providers to ensure that the supply chain provides the highest quality service at the lowest reasonable cost.
- In collaboration with the supply chain manager implement inventory management strategies to balance the need for parts availability with budget and stock turn targets.
- Reviews global production schedules and makes Realtime adjustments to the plan as well as open order orderbook in collaboration with supply chain administrator.
- Implement an annual COGM cost out and tendering process to ensure the company is always getting the best available supply chain package.
- Integrity of ERP System Item Master such that the MRP process can function without issue.
- Work with the global sales team and global agent network to ensure inventory levels are optimised at all locations to manage effective supply to global customer base – rights products, right quantities, right place, right time.
- Mentor & train team members in new or existing processes as required to maintain flexibility of skill sets.
- Create & maintain Standard operating procedures for all departmental processes.
- Continuously monitor team members performance & appraise with the individual quarterly as part of the company’s appraisal process, providing constructive feedback & guidance.
- Set objectives for each team member that aligns with the company’s corporate goals & strategies; monitor achievement against these goals & report this as part of the company’s appraisal process.
- To abide by all statutory requirements including those relating to health and safety.
- To adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures in place from time to time including those relating to HR, environmental and health and safety.
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Line Manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Continuous Improvement qualification (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) (Desirable)
- IOSH Managing Safety (Desirable)
- Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (Desirable)
- Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS) (Desirable)
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) (Desirable)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Administration or Supply Chain Management or demonstrated career experience showing the desired skill sets and demonstrable achievements.
- Practical business background including management principles in resource allocation, strategic planning, management, production and leadership. (Desirable)
- 10 or more years of experience in a leading manufacturing role. (Desirable)
- Experience working with other departments to identify and resolve system and procedural weaknesses. (Desirable)
- Strategic planning and thinking, systems analysis and evaluation.
- Relationship management skills and active listening.
- In-depth knowledge of various ERP systems.
- In-depth understanding of risk management within the supply chain of the company.
- They must also have at least four years of experience in supply chain management.

Working Hours:
- Monday – Friday.
- A potential to work from home 1 day a week after a successful probation period.
