Job description
The role of an Operations Manager is to oversee the daily operations of a business or organisation. They are responsible for ensuring that all operations are running smoothly and efficiently and that the organisation is meeting its goals. They may also be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve operations and managing staff and resources. Additionally, they may be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and analysing data to make informed decisions.
Immediate start
£38,000 - £42,000 annually
Temporary to permanent
Hours are 08:00 - 17:00 with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.
Applicants must have a CPC.
The candidate will need to be flexible as this middle role will also cover holiday and sickness for the other two members in the department. So, an 05:00/14:00 and 11:00/20:00 holiday/ sickness cover is in scope.
General Accountabilities:
- Planning: Develop and implement operational policies, standards, and procedures to ensure organisational efficiency
- Budgeting: Oversee financial and budgetary activities to fund operations, maximize
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff. Ensure staff performance aligns with company goals
- Resource Allocation: Ensure that resources (human, technological, and financial) are used efficiently and effectively
- Process Improvement: Constantly review workflows and processes to make them more efficient and cost-effective
- Quality Control: Ensure that products/services meet quality standards set by the organisation
Local Accountabilities
- Stakeholder Communication: Engage with other managers, suppliers, and clients to ensure operations align with company goals and customer needs
- Risk Management: Identify operational risks, and ensure they are addressed in a timely and effective manner
- Report Generation: Regularly report on operational performance to senior management
- Problem-solving: Address any issues or bottlenecks in the production or service delivery process
- Continuous improvement: Promoting a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation, implementing best practices, and fostering a learning environment
