We are currently recruiting for Process Technician with PLC / Automation experience to join our team in Sittingbourne, Kent. In a nutshell..
A Process Technician at Knauf, will have industrial experience in electrical and mechanical, practical and theoretical skills. An automation understanding, with Siemens S7 PLC and Procon HMI programming competence. This role is a Process Technician for manufacturing plant and equipment, including optimisation, reduction in variabilities, standardisation, continuous improvements and capital investments.
Duties include:
- Following company Health and Safety procedures to ensure the safety of yourself and others others.
- Process automation understanding , including safety systems, PLC and HMI interfaces optimisation andenhancement, and safeguarding backups of programmes, settings and parameters parameters.
- Desire to actively further knowledge of process automation.
- Assisting in diagnosing process faults and tolerance issues, including involvement in events contributing to sub-optimal operation, and developing and standardising remedial process solutions.
- Sourcing and integrating new equipment and technologies into the process with vertical start-up
- Assisting with investment project activity.
- Ability to self-manage and ask for guidance as required.
- Adhering to Knauf standards of automation and ancillary installation design, structure, maintenance and documentation
- Provide an active contribution to the activities and responsibilities of the engineering department, supporting and providing cover for colleagues where required.
Requirements:
- Awareness of current workplace health and safety legislation.
Successfully completed multi-skill Apprenticeship programme - Understanding of automation and machine interface systems, including Siemens S7 (& S5 where appropriate) and other relevant programming languages, as identified by formal training.
- Trained to current edition IET regulations.
- Articulate, literate and numerate with good communication skills.
- Well-developed IT skills including MS office; SAP skills are an advantage.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail, accuracy and planning.
