Ready to start a career in landscape gardening. Swanson landscapes Ltd is looking for an apprentice to join their team. Keeping sites looking well kept & safe

Summary

Applicants ideally should have a full driving license and preferably their own vehicle to get to the workplace. Alternatively, they must be able to get to Kennett where Swanson Landscapes is based and they will be driven to the work sites from there.

No prior knowledge of gardening is essential but an interest in horticulture and/or minor engineering projects would be advantageous.

This job will involve all aspects from soft and hard landscaping. 

General gardening duties:

• Keeping sites looking well kept & safe.
• Maintain a positive attitude at all times with site residents, clients & visitors
• Adhere to all health & safety policies and procedures
• Shared responsibility for cleanliness and health and safety throughout the company

GCSE Level Maths & English, 4–9 or equivalent but not essential

Training to be provided

Full Level 2 Horticultural and Landscaping Operative Apprenticeship Standard qualification

Emergency first aid: Level 3 award in emergency first aid at work.

Pesticides: Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides Guidance OR Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides

Swanson Landscapes is a small design and landscaping firm owned by Paul Swanson, which has been operating in the Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds area for over 10 years.  It is offering an apprentice opportunity for someone with an aspiration to learn a new landscaping skill in an expanding business within a growing market. There will be a trial period to allow suitability to be assessed.
