We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining our leading position in the market by designing new products and improving existing ones. This role involves taking products from concept to manufacturing release and requires collaboration with sales, service, and production teams.
Day–to–day of the role:
- Work within New Product Development (NPD) teams to design and develop electrical/electronic solutions within project timelines.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and OEM customers to define technical requirements for user interfaces.
- Design Electrical, analogue and digital electronic systems, ensuring their interface and operation are suitable.
- Develop firmware and user interface software across a range of products, including defect analysis, debugging, and problem–solving.
- Manage configuration, version control, and programming of communication protocols.
- Integrate and test electronics and software with mechanical hardware, and prepare test specifications for Development and Production.
- Ensure designs meet safety and legal requirements (RoHS, Low Voltage Directive, and EMC Directive), including compliance analysis and testing.
- Maintain electrical systems and software in existing products, manage component obsolescence, and implement corrective actions for non–conformances.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree or HND in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Practical experience in developing analogue and digital electronics.
- Competency in PCB design, preferably using Altium and SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain positive relationships while challenging and questioning.
- Ability to cope with rapidly changing demands and prioritise tasks according to urgency.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- MRP system experience, ideally SAP Business One.
- Programming experience using embedded C, C++ or QML. Linux would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of plasma systems and automation control.

- This role may require occasional travel to suppliers and customers.
- A valid driving license and passport are required.
