Job description

A Vacancy at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust.

• Provide high quality, evidence based dietetic input within the Doncaster Adult Eating Disorder Service.
• Provide holistic assessment of presenting problems relating to eating disorders, and help to formulate treatment and interventions with the wider multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
• Lead on the development of dietetic eating disorder pathways and work with partner organisations. Build positive working relationships within the Trust and with partner agencies and stakeholders through networking and collaborative working.
• Provide dietetic advice, consultation and supervision to the MDT as part of the Doncaster Adult Eating Disorder Service and partner organisations.
• Deliver high quality eating disorder teaching and training .
• Deliver NICE recommended treatments within the scope of practice, professional registration and training provision as part of the Doncaster Adult Eating Disorder Service.
• Support research, audit and service development within the Adult Specialist Eating Disorder Service.
• Provide a high-quality dietetic service within the Specialist Adult Eating Disorder service
• Provide advice, consultation, training and supervision to other members of the MDT on dietetic-based interventions
• Provide highly specialist advice to dietetic staff and other members of the MDT and wider trust, through case discussion, formal consultation, clinical supervision and education
• Manage and be accountable for a specialist complex case load and provide ongoing support for patient and carers as part of the wider MDT working within the Doncaster Adult Eating Disorder Service.
• Develop and foster good working relationships and effective communication with service users and carers, GP’s and other referrers, acute hospital wards, other wards and teams, dietetic colleagues from other trusts, and voluntary sector organisations
• To be responsible for ensuring that service users, or where appropriate carers/families have consented prior to dietetic intervention in line with professional guidelines
• To undertake highly specialised dietetic assessments of complex patients. This will use a range of methods, including sensitive interviewing of service users, interpretation of medical and social information, assessment of blood biochemistry and anthropometric measurements and calculation of nutritional requirements. To liaise with other health and social care professionals to request other clinical measurements or information as necessary
