A Vacancy at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity 30 hours per week (over 4 or 5 days) role for an enthusiastic Band 4 - Nursing Associate or Assistant Practitioner with an interest in bladder and bowel care to join our small friendly dynamic team based in the South Manchester locality.

You will need to be motivated, organised and have the ability to work flexibly and to be able to travel across the South Manchester locality.

The Nursing Associate/ Assistant Practitioner will have responsibility to undertake continence reassessments for housebound patients to support the integrated community nursing service. They will have responsibility to deliver treatment programmes to provide seamless best practice bladder and bowel advice and support to adults and their families both in their homes and designated care settings with proximal supervision from a registered nurse.

The Nursing Associate/ Assistant Practitioner will function at a higher competency level than that of other Health Care Support Workers, with a responsibility for actively participating as part of the Bladder & Bowel team using theoretical knowledge, relevant practical experience and skills to provide effective high quality evidence-based care.

The Nursing Associate/ Assistant Practitioner will participate in the implementation of formal and informal teaching programmes for patients, carers, nursing and care home staff, students and will act as a resource on the promotion of continence and the management of incontinence.

It is anticipated this role will continue to develop through the acquisition of further skills, knowledge and competencies; to be determined within the Bladder & Bowel team.
