My clients are a very well-established manufacturing company based in Tameside. We are now looking for them a Fabric Production Manager
Monday to Friday 40 hour per week 7.30-4.30pm
Salary upto £40k start £19.23 p/hour
33 days holiday inc. stats

The successful candidate will have a proven track recorded managing a technical and quality focused manufacturing fabric plant and will be able to show detailed knowledge in this area.
Main Purpose of the Role:
- To manage the daily requirements of a fabrics manufacturing division.
- Direct daily management of the manufacturing departments within the Fabric’s Division and employees therein.
- Review fabric operator requirements through agreed planning to ensure best utilisation of machinery to achieve stock deadlines and specific targets.
- Review processing performance to schedule.
- Review and develop when agreed the manufacturing capability and performance in line with the company’s changing requirements.
- Ensure correct operator training and machine running procedures are met and are reviewed on a scheduled basis, including operator assessments.
- Monitor fabric processing and ensure consistent and repeatable operating specifications are met and variances are highlighted.
- Monitor production performance against targeted waste.
- Review and in agreement manage the departments training and health and safety manuals.
- Work closely with the departments QC team to ensure agreed finished quality standards are met and identify areas of improvement.
- Ensure all planned maintenance is carried out in line with agreed schedules.
- Ensure all production data is accurate and within the running specifications for the fabric qualities produced.
- Assess the machinery with the maintenance department to ensure correct operation.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
- To monitor and liaise with the Laboratory Manager regarding chemical stock inventory, storage requirements, and the safe storage of chemical products within the warehouse in collaboration with the Production Manager.
- To ensure an accurate and current database of chemical MSDS is maintained.
- To assist in the training of both Management and Operatives in the correct and safe use of chemicals, mixing systems, and formulation used.
- To undertake any other projects as defined by the General Manager. These to include Environmental and Health & Safety.
- To ensure accurate and detailed records of all routine laboratory testing.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of implementing lean management and managing change.
- Previous experience in a Supervisory/Managerial role.
- Evidence of strong analytical skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of polymer coating chemistry and application thereof.
