Health and Safety Advisor Location: Birmingham. Salary / Benefits: £45,000 - £50,000 plus car / car allowance, hybrid working & package Company Information: An experienced provider of infrastructure services and safety / training solutions are seeing to take on a Health & Safety Advisor to manage H&S processes, raise awareness and best practice in H&S operationally within the rail division. The successful candidate will have: Previous experience of holding a similar role in the rail sectorConfidence in interacting with staff across all departments within the Company, clients and third parties.Experience of working within a site-based environment on Rail/construction projects.Experience of internal auditingHold a professional qualification ie. NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate (or equivalent)be a member of IOSHHolder of an Internal Auditing QualificationTopSet Investigation trained or equivalent Desirable Working towards CMIOSH.Ideally hold NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or equivalentExperience of Environmental & Social Values and Sustainability & Carbon Footprint reporting Responsibilities of the Role: Act as deputy to the Head of Health & Safety in representing the company at External, Client and Stakeholder meetings.Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, principal contractors and industry businesses to understand safety strategies.Supporting the management of KPIs, identifying trends and concerns.Proactively managing continuous improvement strategies to strengthen understanding of how we can be better.Provide a single point of contact for the client to feedback on safety and competency mattersTake ownership of developing a programme of site visits, ensuring all sites are visited/auditedComplete accident/incident investigations to include immediate, underlying and root causes accompanied by an appropriate remedial action plan.Conduct regular visits to depots to carry out inspections and deliver safety awareness briefings, standdowns and training.Ensure all site incidents/accidents are investigated and documented with reports, statements and evidence.
