Senior Engineer - Highways/ Active Travel

Job description
We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Engineer (Highways/Active Travel) to join a Sustainable Infrastructure team based anywhere in East Ireland. The ideal candidate will hold Chartered Engineer status or be on the path to achieving it, with a strong background in overseeing the delivery of highway, active travel, and/or greenway projects from planning to design phases.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of various projects related to highways, active travel, and greenways
- Design and manage documentation utilizing CAD software, collaborating closely with CAD Technicians
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Engineers, Ecologists, and Scientists
- Mentor junior staff within the Infrastructure sector
- Prepare technical reports, tenders, and proposals
- Attend onsite meetings with clients and professionals
- Ensure projects adhere to agreed timescales, quality standards, and budgets
- Maintain compliance with Quality Assurance, Health and Safety regulations, and relevant design standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of post-graduate experience in Civil Engineering
- Chartered Engineer status or in the process of achieving it
- Proficiency in design standards and guidelines such as TII, DMURS, NCM, and project appraisal guidelines
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Strong communication, management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently, meeting tight deadlines
- Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings
- Valid Driver's License
