Communications Lead
Rate: £300 per day Umbrella
Duration: Until May 2024 with likely extensions
Flexible 3 days (Part time 22.5 hours per week)
Location: Devon
You will need to be flexible to work from home and the office as and when required.
Our client is looking for an experienced Communications Lead to join them on an interim basis until at least May 2024 initially. Please see below for further details:
Duties:
- Preparing press releases
- Campaign management
- Social media
- Internal/external Comms
Requirements:
- An understanding of local authorities, the political environment in which they operate and the key issues and challenges they face
- Knowledge of the various laws and codes governing equalities, public relations and communications
- Ability to understand the broader organisational issues facing the organisation and implications for local government of national policy
- Experience and knowledge of marketing and communications techniques including the use of printed and online materials and of using and developing social media effectively in a professional capacity
- Experience of developing and managing effective internal and external communications strategies and plans, including crisis or reputation management
- Previous experience of drafting suitable content for social media as well as web editorial
- Liaising with the media and communication professionals, including designers
- High level of IT skills including MS Office, Social Media Software and Adobe
