Job description
Amersham United Charities, who operate two groups of Almshouses, which provide housing accommodation for 'poor single men or women' who are resident at the time of appointment in or near to Amersham require a Treasurer.
What will you be doing?The Board of Trustees has allocated a special role to the Treasurer who complies with the provisions for officers in the Charity governing document. A record will be kept in the Trustees Board meeting minutes of the Treasurer’s appointment.
The Treasurer, if they are a trustee, does not have any extra powers or legal duties than their co-trustees but carries out the as role described. All trustees have responsibility for finances, but the Treasurer takes the lead on financial matters at Board level within the Charity.
The Treasurer is elected for a period of 1 year and re-elected for a maximum of 5 years. The decision is recorded in the minutes of the Board of Trustees
The Treasurer will form an important part of the management group and will be guide the Charity financially.
What are we looking for?The role of Treasurer is so important to us - not only do we need someone to keep us on track financially and keep us viable, but even more significantly, we are looking for someone to help us formulate our vision for the future as we transition into a CIO.
