Job description

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Principal to lead Burton Borough School.

The school needs an ambitious leader who can drive the school forwards from its current and improving position. The new leader will have access to extensive Trust support through its experienced central team and the close working relationships with Trust colleagues.

Burton Borough School is an 11-16 comprehensive, positioned in the beautiful town of Newport, Telford. The school has grown from a group 6 to 7, demonstrating its positive position with parents, to over 1200 students. Burton Borough ambition is to be at the heart of its vibrant community, offering its young people the very best environment for them to be happy and successful. We are looking for a candidate who:

• Has a passion to see every child succeed within a warm, safe environment
• Energy, enthusiasm and resilience; a visible leader
• Has excellent leadership experience at senior level either as a Deputy or Headteacher/Principal
• Has a proven track record of high expectations, raising standards and driving outcomes
• Understands the importance of a broad, rich and appropriate curriculum within an inclusive school
• Has a clear focus and passion for the Quality of Education across all curriculum areas and can demonstrate a knowledge and understanding to influence changes in pedagogy
• Is committed to working within the Trust and with all our school leaders
• Sets the highest standards of behaviour but believes in the support of each and every child
• Can respond to, embrace and lead change
• Is committed to community engagement
