Job description

What you will do in your working day

As an apprentice, you will be given regular and varied tasks to perform which may consist of:

You will be asked to use Microsoft Excel and bookkeeping software such as Xero, QuickBooks and AutoEntry in which training will be provided.

The ideal candidate will be minimum Level 2 AAT qualified and will be a naturally organised person who is confident to communicate with clients in all formats and provide a professional, personal, effective solution to our client’s day-to-day accounting and taxation needs whilst building positive client relationships in a way that reflects the firm’s core values.

The training you will be getting

SGS has elected to deliver the on-programme learning using the Association of Accounting Technician (AAT) Foundation Diploma and the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting alongside the Level 3 Assistant Account Apprentice standard. 

Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting Units are: 

AAT as the lead awarding organisation for accounting have been involved in the development of the apprenticeship Standard and have mapped the diplomas to the Standard. Our recommended End Point Assessment Organisation is AAT.

A Standard contains a list of the skills, knowledge and behaviours an apprentice will need to have learned by the end of their apprenticeship. A portfolio will be compiled throughout the apprenticeship to reflect this.

You will be supported by regular visits and reviews from your tutor in the workplace as well as college attendance. 

You will attend the Filton Campus of SGS College on a weekly basis, term time only.
