We are looking for a kind and nurturing Learning Support Assistant (1:1) to join a welcoming team within a mainstream primary school in Great Bookham, Surrey. This will be to cover a staff absence initially, but longer term possibiltiies may become available. You will support a young pupil with SEN on a one to one basis. Contract/Hours: This is a temp to perm role.
Working Pattern: Mon - Fri 8:30 - 15:30. Please note that a longer term possibilities may become available for the right personalities.
LSA Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities: - Support a young pupil with SEN on a one to one basis, as well as primary aged children within a mainstream setting.
- Support the pupils with both their education and emotional needs.
- 1:1 support and leading small group tasks.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment.
- Work with teachers and other support staff to ensure educational and emotional support is achieved.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe classroom.
- Be a positive role model to every student & support pupils in their progress and learning using specialised SEN strategies across the school.
- Work alongside the class teacher and Lead TA to raise the learning and attainment of all pupils in both academic and EHCP areas.
- Supporting pupils individually or in groups so they can access all areas of the curriculum and helping to promote pupils' independence.
LSA Learning Support Assistant Requirements: - If you have experience supporting young learners, this is highly beneficial.
- A passion to support children with their educational journey.
- Reslilient & up for a new challenge.
- Experience in childcare settings / care settings.
- Commutable to Great Bookham, Surrey KT23.
- Self motivated & willing to learn and get involved.
