Job description
The Ideal Freight General Manager who will be reporting into the Managing Director will have the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of freight operations
- Optimise supply chain processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Lead and supervise Air, Ocean and Road teams
- Develop and implement strategies to meet performance and budgetary targets
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and negotiate with suppliers, carriers, and other partners
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships through exceptional service
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators and make data-driven decisions
- Resolve operational issues and address customer concerns
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost savings
