Job description
A bright, spacious nursery in the Camberwell area is seeking a Nursery Practitioner to join their team and oversee the wellbeing of children in the setting with children from 0 to 5 years old.
Close to the tube, overland trains and local bus routes, their friendly team use imaginative play to stimulate each child’s curiosity. Activities include yoga, singing and signing, messy arts, and cooking. With sustainability at its heart, this nursery has an on-site allotment, where the children enjoy growing vegetables and plants. The nursery’s chef prepares home-cooked meals and snacks for the children from a nutritious menu, and Parents and carers are invited to attend regular advisory groups.
You will support the Room Manager by assisting with implementing the curriculum, partnering with parents, and ensuring the children are happy, engaged with activities and secure.

Responsibilities: - Organise a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in your room
- Liaise with and support parents, carers and other family members
- Maintain learning journals and developmental records on your key children, and ensure all daily paper work is completed e.g. registers, sleep charts, nappy charts etc.
- Develop your role within the team, aiming for growth and continuous improvement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Have experience of working with children in a nursery environment
- Hold a relevant and recognised level 3 childcare certification
- Excellent verbal communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with colleagues, parents, carers and the children
- Good planning, organisational, record keeping skills
- An enthusiasm for working with young children, and a positive approach to inclusive practice
- Able to work as part of a collaborative team
