Job description
Our client is a fast growing medical technology company focusing on the rapid diagnosis and monitoring of Parkinson's disease. The Company has several early adopters and has raised seed investment. The team anticipates 2024 as their breakthrough year with significantly increasing revenue lines.
The Company is now moving to the 'Series A' stage. In addition, the Company is expanding its operations to the US, and the CEO will spend more time overseas. As a result the company are looking for an Operations Director to lead the UK-based operations, involving both EU commercial delivery and R&D. The Operations director will work closely with the CTO, CFO, VP of Sales and the CEO.
The Role
- The overall goal is to ensure commercial delivery by keeping multiple projects and programs on track across the organisation
- Implementing new standard operating procedures in the Company's quality system
- Documenting critical information, where the wider team will be continuously trained with the quality objectives and procedures
- The position also involves coordinating multidisciplinary activities between collaborators in different geographies
- The Operations Director will ensure that information is communicated and documented to bring structure and clarity to a busy, fast-moving innovation and commercial environment
Responsibilities:
- Leading day-to-day operations and coordinating delivery of products, providing oversight to manage client licences and maintaining risk registers
- The Operations Director will be responsible for the creation of detailed work plans for assigned projects, which identify and sequence the activities needed to complete each project successfully
- Determining resources required to complete projects and resolve resource conflicts
- Reviewing project schedules with Stakeholders and implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure successful project delivery
- Ensuring formal/legal/regulatory filings are up to date
- Implementing communication plans to update Stakeholders on the progress of projects in line with the project agreements
- Leading contract implementation with clients and distributors
- The Operations Director will be acting as a signatory
- Meet regularly with senior management and project/program teams to ensure work is on track and quality standards are met
- Organise project board meetings
Skills & Qualifications:
- Organisational and time management skills with experience in formal project reporting
- Experience working in a life science environment with commercial product delivery
- Commercial understanding
- Strategic thinking
- Hands-on approach to problem-solving
- A collaborator who is also able to work on their initiative
- Able to work with team members e.g. technical, financial, commercial, clinical
- Product development projects, managing commercial delivery
Nice to Have - NOT deal breakers:
- Bid development
- AI/ML and digital health
- Experience with international R&D collaborations in a commercial context, such as EU FP7 / Horizon2020.
