Financial management is all about applying management principles to an organisation’s finances.  It involves planning, organising, directing, and controlling the financial undertakings. 

As a valued Apprentice with us, you will work with our diverse and highly skilled Corporate Finance team, gaining valuable knowledge and skills.  You will learn how to assist in the production of annual revenue and capital budgets, and in the closedown of final accounts.  You will also learn how to carry out routine reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.  The team will get you involved in a variety of projects to broaden your experience.

Working within Financial Management presents a variety of different career pathways and is an excellent choice for those with an ambition to progress too.

You will be based at County Hall, Durham with the opportunity of flexible, home and office working when appropriate.

What qualification will I gain?

You will study towards the Accounts/Finance Assistant Level 2 standard progressing to Assistant Accountant Level 3standard with a trusted training provider.

What will I need?
You must either have or expect to achieve 5 GCSEs at Grades 9-4/A*-C including Maths and English or hold an equivalent qualification, together with good communication, IT and numerical skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
