Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Construction
Location: St Kitts, Caribbean
Salary circa - US$65k - $70k/year
Position Overview:
As a Quantity Surveyor with at least 3 years of experience, you will play a pivotal role in our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in setting-out, with expertise in concrete, groundworks, and earthworks. You will be responsible for managing project costs, ensuring financial efficiency, and contributing to the overall success of our construction endeavours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct cost estimation, budget preparation, and financial forecasting for construction projects.
- Collaborate with the project team to establish and maintain cost control procedures.
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to accurately determine the quantities of materials required.
- Evaluate contractor quotations and negotiate agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor project progress, identify variations, and prepare accurate reports on cost performance.
- Provide support in resolving commercial issues and disputes.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess and validate setting-out, concrete, groundworks, and earthworks activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cost-related information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong background in setting-out, with specific expertise in concrete, groundworks, and earthworks.
- Excellent knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
- Proficient in relevant software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
