Job description

Nicholas Associate is excited to be working with one engineering client based near Milton Keynes, the company supply the NHS, Government building and Festivals with Diesel Generators.


We are looking for a generator engineer who has their 18th Edition and experience commissioning diesel generators and 2391 C&G which are the minimum standard to be able to commission generators


The working hours are Monday to Friday 8-5.


The role comes with a company van, fuel card, laptop and company phone.


Travel across the UK is required with this role


Purpose of Job:
- Responsible for service, maintenance, and repair of diesel generator equipment.
- Perform administrative duties and assist in managing hire contracts.
- Provide customer-centric service in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose faults, repair, and maintain diesel generators and related equipment.
- Keep up-to-date with administrative tasks, including accurate reporting of parts used and time spent.
- Assist in the operation of hire contracts and prepping machines for hire.
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in a safe and tidy condition.
- Adhere to company and legal safety practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and employees.
- Provide technical advice as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Full valid driving license.
- Proven experience with diesel engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, electrics, and braking systems.
- Strong customer service skills with effective communication abilities.
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent is preferred.
