Job description

General Clinical: To work using own initiative in planning workloads and working effectively within the team. To run clinics independently, with support as required from the Nursing team, To prepare patients for their appointments (including recording observations/obtaining samples) ensuring dignity; personal wishes and beliefs are respected. To act as a chaperone when requested/ required To ensure the patient is aware and involved in their plan of care and that consent has been obtained for any procedures that are to take place To ensure clinical rooms are equipped with all necessary items pre procedures To assist the Specialist staff, under guidance and supervision of a Registered Nurse, in performing minor operations, including managing procedure lists/cases; ensuring strict aseptic technique is used and the cleaning of equipment is maintained. To gain knowledge and understanding of the procedures performed. Maintain effective communication between colleagues and with patients. To act as a role model and mentor to junior Healthcare assistants. Maintain safety of patients in accordance with agreed policies related to security and confidentiality. Recognising the Equality and Diversity of patients, clients, relatives and multi- disciplinary groups by supporting non-discriminatory practice & acknowledging the patients personal beliefs and identity. Maintaining a clean and tidy environment, clinic rooms, store cupboards, sluice, treatment rooms and equipment used for procedures. Take and record vital signs as requested, i.e., temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure, oxygen saturation and Early Warning Score (EWS) and reporting any abnormalities/concerns to the registered healthcare practitioner.
