Job description
The University of Essex in partnership with PCS Instruments offers an exciting opportunity to explore novel commercial opportunities for applications of PCS Instruments’ existing knowledge and engineering capabilities, design and implement international market entry strategies and measure impacts for sustainable organisational growth.
This post is fixed term for 26 months and is based at PCS Instruments’ offices in London.
Office-based position with possibility to work one day from home.
DUTIES OF THE POST
The duties of the post will include:
– Gather data from various databases and sources to inform
decision-making processes.
– Conduct in-depth analyses of distributors and suppliers, utilizing
ranking methodologies.
– Perform comprehensive industry, market, and country analyses to
identify key trends and opportunities.
– Utilize SWOT analysis to develop strategic insights and contribute
to overall strategy development.
– Develop market entry strategies.
– Develop market positioning and promotional activities.
– Develop, execute, and monitor action plans to ensure strategic
objectives are met.
– Identifying potential international partners to support business
development.
– Effective communication of growth plans to international
partners.
– Evaluate the performance of international partners.
– Lead the implementation of marketing strategies to enhance market
presence and achieve business goals.
– Potential overseas travel required.
– Embedding technology, training and upskilling of company staff.
– Participating in academic and/or industrial conferences and other
events, to disseminate and present research outcomes to the wider
community.
– Contributing to the writing of academic publications and teaching
materials, with an appreciation of the potential of the project to
contribute to the Research Excellence Framework.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
– BSc in an engineering discipline.
– MBA, MSc and/or another professional qualification in a management
discipline or equivalent experience.
– Experience conducting market research exercises.
– Ability to undertake market research and competitor analysis to
ascertain the company’s current market position and develop a new
marketing strategy.
– Ability to analyse business data.
– Experience conducting (PESTEL and SWOT) analysis.
– Ability to develop and implement staff training workshops and
exercises.
– Ability to work as part of a diverse team and take their own
initiative.
– Excellent command of written and spoken English.
