What is the Data Analyst Security Apprenticeship?

Do you have a keen interest in how data can be used in order to answer questions and solve problems?

Data analysis is a process of requirement-gathering, inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modelling data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions and supporting decision-making. Data analysis is a fast-moving and changing environment, and data analysts need to continue to stay abreast of, and engaged with, changes and trends in the wider industry; including data languages, tools and software, and lessons learnt elsewhere. Nuclear Operations run our cloud platforms in Azure; you will learn how to effectively operate the platforms at scale. Through Azure Cloud Platform teams and the Data and Analytics Department and potential Business areas throughout your time on the scheme, you’ll work closely with the Technical Leads, Product Owners and with a wide range of industry leading partners to supplement your learning.

Training, development and support for you:

The programme is fully virtual with online learning sessions. You’ll be working towards completing your Data Analyst including Power BI Level 4 apprenticeship.

Throughout the programme you will be supported in developing the below skills:

Azure Fundamentals and data ops capability

R, Python Programming languages

Data modelling (conceptual, logical, and physical)

Data Engineering Techniques

Once you’ve settled into the team, you will be part of the customer facing and data centric product team’s and you’ll be following a structured Agile methodology to deliver quality products into our Business and improving our time to value.

Previous apprentices have gone on to become Data Engineers, Data Analysts or even Data Scientists, the future is yours for the taking!

Where you’ll work:

Your training provider will be QA limited. You’ll be based at our Gloucester Business Park office; this is where you’ll will also complete all work towards your apprenticeship.

To join our team you’ll need:

Five GCSE’s in the A*to C or 9 to 4 range including English and Maths

Hold an appropriate level 3 qualification, typically have at least three A levels at Grades A*-C / Apprenticeship / BTEC.

Experience with using Excel and Microsoft products (or similar).

A passion for, data and digital innovation and be aware of current trends and best practices.

An understanding of cloud and digital technologies and how that can be applied to bring business benefits.

A value-centric mindset.

Good communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.

Able to travel within the UK.

Our Assessment Centre will be held virtually on Tuesday the 9th of April.
