Job description

This is an outstanding Finance Manager opportunity to join one of the most successful manufacturers in the East Midlands. Luxfer Gas Cylinders is a business with a fantastic product, a strong brand and an international infrastructure. A market leader in their field, they have a strong local investment strategy with exciting new product lines, promoting Hydrogen and compressed natural gas fuel systems for clean energy to be supplied primarily into the transport sector.

If you are an aspiring Finance Manager who wants to take ownership of a small team of staff who you can mentor and develop then this role will suit you. The incoming candidate will report to the Finance Director Europe, who is keen to develop, mentor and invest in your journey with Luxfer, which offers you long-term career progression both inside and outside of the UK.

The Nottingham manufacturing site, which is currently enjoying heavy investment and expansion is set to treble in turnover over the next few years and are at the forefront of their sector. This is an exciting time to be joining them.

Your role will include but will not be limited to:

• Month-End Close: Lead the timely completion of month-end procedures, managing additional quarterly and year-end reporting requirements.
• SOX Controls Compliance: Oversee all aspects of Sox controls compliance on a monthly basis and at other defined intervals.
• Auditor Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal and external auditors, ensuring smooth communication and compliance.
• Financial Planning: weekly forecasting, as well as quarterly, semi-annual, and annual budgeting activities.
• Variance Analysis: Partner with operations departments to investigate and minimize production variances, contributing to cost control efforts.
• Costing Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy of system product costings, providing reliable financial data for decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
• A desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.

Key to this role is enthusiasm and the ability to challenge the normal, your personality must enable you to build long-term relationships within the management team.  

A manufacturing background is preferable but not as essential as other attributes and your application will be considered if you can demonstrate a track record of achievement outside of the sector, therefore 1st time movers from practice will be considered. Most important is the high level of importance you place on ethics and values which must align to Luxfer, and your ability to fit in and lead a first-class finance team.
