Job description
Our clients seeking a dynamic and proactive Project Manager who can navigate challenges, inspire their team, and deliver successful outcomes on every project they undertake.
Our client is a leading civil engineering and infrastructure specialist with over 40 years of experience across various sectors including water, transport, energy, and the built environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, within specified timelines, and in alignment with budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including the Estimating Department, engineers, and surveyors.
Responsibilities:
~Lead and manage multiple projects to ensure they meet specified quality standards, adhere to timelines, and achieve maximum commercial performance.
~Collaborate closely with the Estimating Department, engineers, and surveyors to guarantee safe project completion while exceeding customer expectations.
~Take charge of financial forecasting, project cost monitoring, and reporting, providing monthly updates to the Contracts Manager.
~Oversee project progress, resource allocation, and forward planning, ensuring the scope of work is clearly defined and understood.
~Chair weekly site meetings, maintain accurate records of discussions and actions, and foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and design consultants.
~Develop and maintain construction programmes, coordinate site investigations, and devise cost-effective engineering solutions.
~Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including the production and implementation of necessary project plans and risk assessments.
~Maintain commercial focus to drive cost efficiency and challenge existing practices.
~Prepare estimates for additional work outside target costs and assist in estimating new tenders.
~Actively pursue potential new clients and cultivate strong relationships.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience of managing projects within Civil, Water/Rail/Process Environments and MEICA Installation.
Requirements:
~Extensive experience managing projects in Civil, Water/Rail/Process Environments, and MEICA Installation.
~In-depth knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design management, programme & risk management, and cost control.
~Proficiency in Primavera P6 software or equivalent.
~Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
~Certifications: CSCS manager’s card, SMSTS, NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
~Familiarity with NEC contract and strong communication, team management, and problem-solving skills.
~Ability to challenge designs, resolve issues independently, and deliver successful projects with minimal guidance.
~Strong analytical thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable:
~CEng MICE, knowledge of the JCT form of contract.
~Heavy Civils- Utilities
~Tunnelling
~Concreting
~MEICA
