Recruiting an experienced BDM for an established company in FelthamYour goal is to promote and expand the company’s commercial engagement with new prospects by selling our air , ocean & road services which will generate revenues and lead to sustainable growth.Develop your own pipeline of new business by actively seeking out new sales opportunities through cold prospecting, client events & trade shows.Manage the sales process from lead generation, proposal through to contract negotiation & deal closure through to onboarding and account management.RESPONSIBILITIESGrowing and retaining your own portfolio of new commercial customers.Actively seeking out new sales opportunities in order to build sales pipeline to ensure a constant stream of new prospects.Have a good understanding of the businesses’ products /services and be able to effectively sell to customers.Scheduling and attending meetings with prospective clients.Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis, ensuring we are consistently meeting or exceeding them.Ensuring our CRM system is being used effectively to track, monitor, and report and plan strategically exciting new business opportunities.Responsibility for the effective on-boarding of new clients.Understand the value drivers of the business and identifying profitable commercial opportunities to grow revenue and market share.Maintaining the revenue and gross profit of each account ensuring they remain profitable, proactively exhausting all additional revenue streams opportunities.Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for management team.Working closely with the Marketing team to generate and nurture a pipeline of qualified sales leads.Represent the company externally e.g. at networking events, conferences and exhibitions to enhance and strengthen the company’s profile and optimise all business development opportunities.EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 5 years previous sales experience working for freight forwarding company is required, preferably within the perishable sector.Motivated, ambitious with a drive for exceeding sales target.Strong negotiation skills with excellent presentation skills.Proven track record of generating and achieving revenue growth.Strong analytical skills and excellent business acumen.Collaborative approach to working with colleagues across Sales, Operations, Product & Finance.Strong work-ethic with willingness to learn.Self- starter, who enjoys a broad remit of activities.A hands-on, pragmatic, highly service-oriented mindsetHighly developed interpersonal communication skillsA natural relationship builderIf you have the relevant experience please apply to
