CMA are excited to be partnering with Menzies to add a Tax Partner to the Solent team. With headquarters in London, regional office across Surrey, Hampshire, Hertfordshire and Cardiff as well as global reach through the HLB network, Menzies pride themselves on the tailored approach that they offer to clients which include large corporates, SME’s and privately managed businesses.
With a rare opportunity to join the Director / Partnership group within the tax specialism, this role offers the opportunity to be part of the senior leadership team contributing to the direction and development of the service line and office.
What will the Tax Partner role involve?
- Taking responsibility for delivery of business tax compliance services by the team in the Solent office;
- Key member of the senior leadership team in the Solent office, working alongside the other directors and partners to drive continued growth and development of the office;
- Play a leading role in practice development and marketing of the full range of the firm’s services, contributing to growth in the Solent office;
- Developing new relationships through a variety of networking activities;
- Oversees the day to day running of the Solent tax team, which includes business tax and private client;
- To collaborate with the senior firmwide tax team to develop and contribute to maintaining and developing tax services across the firm;
- Develop specialist niche area of expertise for the benefit of the wider firm;
- Develop working relationships with other service lines across the firm and Solent office;
- Overseeing and developing a portfolio of clients and taking full responsibility for service delivery for those clients and cross referring to other service lines;
- Build the team to ensure delivery of the business plan.
Suitable Candidate for the Tax Partner vacancy:
- Strong technical corporate tax knowledge with a focus on OMB/SME market;
- Mixed tax knowledge would be an advantage (working knowledge of private client issues);
- International corporate tax experience would be beneficial;
- The ability to motivate and drive a team;
- Excellent and proactive communication skills, including technical written work, presentation skills and the ability to develop relationships with clients, staff, and networks;
- Delivery of high-quality technical results, utilising strong research and analytical skills;
- Experience to make informed decisions that are tax compliant, ethical and commercially sound;
- Collaborates internally to develop and coach wider tax team, as well as diverse talent pool in Solent tax team;
- Strong history of BD and winning new work
- CTA with extensive experience within a professional firm;
- ACA qualified would be an advantage.
