NDT Technician - Onsite
Location: Bridgwater

We are currently recruiting for NDT Technicians to work Onsite.
The main purpose of the role
The NDT Technician reports directly to the NDT Supervisor and will be responsible for the day to day inspection activities of the company.
They will ensure that these activities are implemented in a safe and effective manner. They will carry out these duties in accordance with the
company procedures and to the high levels of service expected by the company. The NDT Technician will strictly adhere to the company’s principles of independence and impartiality.
Key Activities:
As a ND T T echnician your activities will include the following:
I m plements inspections as detailed on the NDT Service Request.
Preparation of ND T r eports prior to submittal to the client.
Ensures that all equipment checks are completed and submitted to the N DT Supervisor.
Ensures that only serviceable and calibrated equipment is used on site and m aintained at a satisfactory level.
Liaises with N D T Supervisor to identify inspection progress and any welds which have not met the acceptance criteria.
Carry out all work with impartiality and without prejudice towards other parties such as clients, contractors or members of the public.
Preparation of Site specific NDT technique sheets.
Carry out monitoring of technical assessment (peer to peer witnesses surveillance) where qualified in that discipline to the same or higher level.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Site Manager or NDT Supervisor.
NDT Technicians carrying out Radiography:
Consult with platform owners and NNB Radiation Protection team to control personnel and implement plans.
Prepare safe working methods in co-operation with the Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) and NNB Radiation Protection team.
Ensure that all safety systems are in place and fully functional in accordance with the local rules and site procedures.
Set up and manage Radiation Controlled Areas to conduct radiographic examination on site in accordance with the local rules and site procedures.
Prepare equipment, prepare and process radiographic film.
Interpret films to determine compliance with specifications and standards, identifying any faults or defects.
Ensure radiography equipment is checked and in calibration prior to use.
Ensure all sources of radiation are controlled and stored appropriately in line with the local rules. Ensure no access to unauthorised personnel.
Maintain radiographic records and keep a record on site.
Experience
Experience of work within the process, plant or power generation industries.
The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with strong interpersonal skills.
Fully conversant with modern inspection methods and have at least 3 years documented experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of conventional non-destructive testing techniques
Essential Qualifications
PCN / CSWIP Level 2 MPI Testing
PCN / CSWIP Level 2 DPI Testing
