Senior leadership Possesses interpersonal, political, conceptual, analytical, and public relations skills of the highest order. Demonstrate awareness of benefits of quality improvement methodology and clinical governance in improving the quality of care provided to patients and ensure this is embedded in medical practice KEY RESULT AREAS Make a significant contribution as a member of the Trust Executive and Operational boards to the leadership and management of the Trust. Deliver specified and agreed Key Performance Indicators against national standards which will be managed and maintained through objective setting at Compliance with peer review standards Meet with the Chief Medical Officer monthly to review Advise and support relevant relationships with the CQC, Coroner and Medical Examiners Office, and organisations across the Health and Social Care setting in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Work with the Trust Executive Directors & the Trust Clinical Leads and equivalent roles in partner organisations (CFT, ICB SWAST and Cornwall Council) to ensure effective arrangements are in place to improve the delivery of Health and Social Care across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Demonstrate and role model the Trust values and behaviours. With the CMO and the Clinical Directors, provide the professional medical leadership for the organisation, assuring standards of professional practice, performance and associated professional matters through the promotion and development of the highest standards and a culture in which clinical excellence will flourish. Work with the Chief Operating Officer and their deputies to provide medical support to the delivery of the Trusts Flow program and improvements in the Urgent and Emergency Care pathway. Work with the Chief People Officers team and be responsible for medical leadership and engagement in relation to workforce development and transformation and associated policies and procedures. Play a key role in the effective management of job planning, medical staffing, and work with the Responsible Officer on appraisal and revalidation. Ensure in conjunction with the Post Graduate Dean/Directors of Post Graduate Medical Education that postgraduate training for trainee medical staff is delivered in accordance with the Learning and Development Agreement. Ensure that the Trust meets all its obligations for the training and education of its medical staff (and Students), and complies with Health Education England, Royal College and NHS guidance, regulations, and recommendations to provide high quality training. Work with our Director of Strategy and Universities towards the development of University Hospital status. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trusts and the ICBs strategy and clinical developments to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care. Work with the CMO and Deputy MD for Clinical Effectiveness in all aspects of Quality and Safety agenda. Chair Medication Practice Committee and Medical Equipment Group Advise the CMO on any matters of clinical practice, accreditation standards, medical staffing issues or investment of resources that may influence the Trusts ability to meet its strategic and operational goals or that may affect quality and patient safety issues. Any other duties required by the CMO, or on behalf of the Trust Board.
