Job description
MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting a Senior Design Engineer for our market-leading client - who have been developing and manufacturing exceptional bespoke products across the UK and Ireland for more than 30years – to join their experienced Design Team at their County Tyrone facility.
What we have to offer:
- Salary: £40-50k
- 40 hr week: Monday to Friday, 8am-5.30pm and Friday 8am-3pm
Your day to day as the successful Senior Design Engineer:
- Involved in the design of heavy plant equipment using SolidWorks.
- Produce detailed manufacture and assembly drawings for production.
- Generate bill of materials for purchasing.
- Liaise closely with production department to ensure designs can be manufactured with optimal efficiency.
- Prepare layout drawings and design specifications for presentation to customers.
- Manage projects from conception to completion.
The successful candidate will have:-
- 3rd level qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Design
- Proven experience in sheet metal designing in a quarry/concrete equipment manufacturing industry.
- Experience in SolidWorks software and the development + design of new products.
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes
- Ability to understand technical drawings, prepare BOM’s.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Comfortable working towards strict deadlines
- Logical thinker with good analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience with heavy plant machinery.
- Knowledge of concrete/quarrying industry.
- Understanding of conveyor systems and hydraulic + pneumatic systems.
