Job description
Our client based in the Portsmouth area is looking to recruit an experienced Service Engineer to
manage, supervise and organise staff, projects and undertake servicing, repair, installation and maintenance of a comprehensive range of equipment systems and facilities in accordance with company procedures ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities and Task
- Train, organise and lead staff under your control, ensuring all tasks carried to customers satisfaction and in accordance with quality procedures
- Plan & organise projects on Operations Manager s/Operations Support Lead and Foremen s behalf
- Ensure accurate completion of tasks and sign off acceptance sheets with customer
- Installation, overhaul, servicing and repair ships components, systems and related plant equipment locally, within UK and overseas
- Waste Management, keep up to date with & ensure compliance with current H&S and waste regulations
- Working in Confined Space ensuring correct PPE is used at all times, ensuring compliance to all Health & Safety procedures
- Maintain high-quality cleanliness standards at all times whilst on customer premises
- Assist with Marlin personnel if required
- Understanding of risk assessments, safe working systems, COSH regulations, ensuring a safe working environment, ensuring you/ your team is compliant
- Visit customers premise, ensuring maintenance of Company s standards
- Carry out surveys and write reports on specific tasks
- Liaise with customers
- Responsible for PPE and company equipment
- Responsible for yours and colleagues health & safety
Hours of Work - Monday Friday 7.30am 4.00pm
Person Specification
Skills & Experience
- Mechanical experience, Indentured apprenticeship in engineering, industrial plant, or related field. Full understanding of Confined Space working
- Ability to understand and action relevant pack procedures for relevant tasks
- Good working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 & OHSA18001
- Good working knowledge of Pumps, Fuel, Water and Hydraulic systems
Training & Qualifications
- Undertake & successfully complete IOSH accredited Health & Safety training
Undertake training in (but not limited to):
- Manual Handling
- Fire Sentry Duties
- Confined Space Entry/Sentry
- Environmental & Spill control/Response
- COSHH
