Job description
Assist the Skin Cancer CNS in the ongoing development of Skin Cancer service in accordance with National and Local Skin Cancer guidelines. Actively participate as a core member of the local MDT, working closely with the co-ordinator and other team members in the absence of the skin cancer CNS. Assist with and provide nurse led clinics for newly diagnosed and follow up skin cancer patients / general dermatology. Provide Psychological support for patients, relatives /careers Participate in health promotion activities. Deal effectively and sensitively with patient issues collaborating with PALS/complaints service as appropriate. Acts as a role model while assisting members of the team with planning, priority setting and decision making. Undertake Individual performance review for development of staff. Undertake relevant clinical and management/leadership courses to continuously develop specialist knowledge and skills. Ensure all records relating to patient care are accurate, clear, concise, legible and in accordance with the NMC Standards for Records and Record Keeping. Ensure adherence to the Trust Medicines Policy and the NMC Standards for the Administration of Medicines. Participate in audits of practice including infection prevention and control initiatives.
