Job description
About You:
You will have an interest in using systems biology approaches to address fundamental questions in cancer biology towards the development of new therapeutic strategies.
You will have experience designing and using CRISPR-based approaches to regulate gene expression in cancer cells, as well as being familiar with using a wide range of molecular and cellular biology skills including molecular cloning, lentivirus generation, DNA and RNA extraction, Q-PCR, Western blotting, flow cytometry, and proximity-based labelling techniques to detect protein interactions.
In addition, you should have an interest in multi-disciplinary team-based research, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity and the potential for developing your skills in new scientific directions. A supportive training environment will be provided to extend and complement your skillset.
Technical Skills:
E=essential, D = desirable
PhD in cell biology, systems biology, biotechnology, or related discipline (E)
Experience performing mammalian cell culture (E)
Experience performing molecular cloning, lentiviral production, Western blotting, flow cytometry, and viability assays (E)
Experience using CRISPR (E)
Experience using proximity-based ligation methods to map protein-protein interactions (D)
Experience performing cell-based phenotypic screens (D)
Knowledge of R or Python programming languages (D)
