Welding & Quality Engineer


The Welding & Quality Engineer is a diligent devotee to maintaining the high standards we hold as part of our HSSEQ mix.

Your role is to work with your team colleagues and the HSSEQ Director to ensure that Quality is effectively embedded from project, all the way up to company level.

Meeting our obligations is an essential component to our business success and the Welding & Quality Engineer plays a key part in making this happen.

You need to be willing to get stuck in, combining your attention to detail, with strong communication and a pinch of lateral thinking to help us continuously improve.

Role Overview

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System requirements with team colleagues.

• Develop and collate quality data for monitoring targets.

• Provide advice and guidance to project personnel on applying the Quality Management System (QMS) for design and execution activities.

• Lead non-conformance investigations and root cause analysis.

• Develop and implement Quality campaigns and improvement plans.

• Carry out regular inspections and audits of sites and internal project and QMS processes to assess if work is carried out in accordance with relevant requirements.

• Work with project teams to develop and implement QA and QC requirements and activities.

• Prepare, implement and maintain project quality plans, and support project teams in meeting contractual quality requirements.

• Review, monitor and report on Supplier and Contractor Quality deliverables and performance.

• Provide training on Quality issues and business processes and support colleagues in delivering suitable outputs.

Person specification

• A strong passion for quality and championing of the “Quality – Right First Time” initiative.

• Strong oral and written communication skills (able to facilitate events and meetings).

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Devoted to and continuously improving health and safety culture.

Other information

• Successful applicants will be based at our headquarters, in North East England, working on site as required.

• Working abroad may be required at times.

• We offer hybrid working as part of this role.
